In a little rural town in central North Carolina, a part-time farmer’s back kitchen became the unlikely birthplace of a whole new kind of BBQ sauce. Roller-skating servers. Muscle cars in the lot. Locals calling it liquid gold.
Decades later, that sauce found its way to soldiers serving overseas with special forces — men from allied nations pouring it on wild game in foreign lands because it reminded the Carolina boys of where they came from.
